This 40-hour course introduces participants to assembling the racking used to carry the photovoltaic
modules that power solar farms. Topics include the purpose and identification of various racking
components, what they are, and how they are assembled. The course will also cover the operation and maintenance procedures of a Vermeer PD10R solar pile driver in a production environment. Hazards of operation and necessary safety precautions will be discussed and practiced. Hands-on activities include will involve handling the various racking components and building the racking system. In addition, hands-on practice driving piles used on solar projects will also be provided. Safety considerations will be reviewed and incorporated during hands-on activities.
