This 40-hour course covers safety and the procedures for working safely around cranes. Topics covered include types of cranes; common causes of accidents; safe work practices; math for rigging; rigging hardware and slings; and crane signaling. During hands-on activities, participants will calculate the weights of loads; choose proper rigging hardware and rig the load properly; and signal the crane operator to pick and move the load.
